  Cost of living....

Before you arrive in the UK it is advisable to understand the purchasing value of your currency. Savings can disappear quickly in an expensive country when you are spending the Dollar or Rand.

As a general rule you should overestimate rather than under estimate the cost of living in the United Kingdom, especially in London. This is why the pay rate for teaching in London is so much higher than other areas of the UK as cost of accommodation and travel is far more expensive.
